Dr. Jacob Lohr has been caring for children for over 40 years as a pediatrician, researcher and advocate. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, he has served in such leadership roles as Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Virginia, Chief of the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Pediatrician-in-Chief of the North Carolina Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Lohr has been a consultant for the American Academy of Pediatrics and the World Health Organization and has participated in and chaired review committees for the National Institutes of Health in addition to serving as a medical editor for the American Board of Pediatrics for 14 years. He has received numerous awards for his excellence in teaching, clinical care and community service, including the North Carolina Pediatric Society 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award. He continues to care for families and patients as a pediatrician on faculty at the University of North Carolina.
