Jackie Kaufman has been involved in health care for over 25 years. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Nursing from the University of Washington. She has worked as a nurse practitioner with the HIV/AIDS Clinic Trials Group, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Disease at the University of North Carolina both as a clinician and researcher. She also served as the Project Coordinator for the CDC funded, Global AIDS Project through the University of North Carolina, School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology for HIV-based programs located in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.
A 2010 recipient of the North Carolina Governor’s Award for Volunteer Service, Jackie has worked with several local, state, and national organizations to address issues related to violence.
